Forgive me for my limited range of knoledge, but speaking of entropy, what is entropy?
Disorder, chaos... or a measure thereof. The catchphrase (aka the second law of thermodynamics), I believe, is "the universe tends towards entropy." Which it does. Hence, my point. Entropy happens.
I basically saw a sign sporting the classic phrase "shit happens" earlier today, and for some reason "entropy happens" flitted through my mind and I felt like writing it. What can I say, I'm weird.
Entropy is often mis-understood. It's not chaos per say. Chaos is boundless, it can be as small or as large as any measurement your mind could conceive. It has no patterns to track. It is simply entirely total random.
Entropy is different. It's chaos with rules, with limits. Inside a closed system. It's the chaos that cannot change.
You may be right, chaos could well be a poor choice of a word. I suppose I just maybe associate/equate the phrase "all systems tend toward chaos" with "the universe tends towards entropy". But maybe the difference between the two exists in a different place than in semantics, and they're not saying the same thing. Frankly it's too late for me to ponder that any more. But thanks for the interestingness of the comment. ^.^
